Maroons Fall at Dominican

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Dominican (Ill.) University goalkeeper Piotr Sliwa collected six saves as the Stars defeated the University of Chicago men's soccer team 2-0 in non-conference play on Wednesday afternoon.

The Stars (1-2) tallied once in each half. Juan Saldana opened the scoring off a corner kick at the 30:34 mark. Nicolas Toro then added an insurance goal in the 79th minute.

Sliwa made four of his six saves in the second half as the Maroons (1-2) outshot Dominican 6-5 in the game's final 45 minutes. Both teams were credited with nine shots on goal for the match.

The game marked the end of a season-opening three-game road swing for Chicago.
