#10 Chicago Defeats #9 DePauw;
Maroons Finish 8-0 in Dual Meets

CHICAGO -- Junior Shane Carlson (Houston, Texas/ Memorial) won two events and established a school record as the 10th-ranked University of Chicago men's swimming & diving team defeated ninth-ranked DePauw University 184-115 Saturday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool.

With the victory, Chicago finished the dual meet portion of its schedule with an 8-0 record and three wins over nationally-ranked opponents. The Maroons are 14-2 in dual meet competition under second-year head coach Jason Weber.

Carlson recorded a school record time of 1:58.14 en route to a first-place performance in the 200-yard individual medley. He also led the way in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.89).

Senior Zach Ergish (Moreno Valley, Calif./ Valley View) and freshman Sebastien Davis-VanGelder (Falls Church, Va./ Marshall) each won a pair of events.

Ergish took top honors in the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke (59.90, 2:09.16), while Davis-VanGelder won the 100- and 200-yard backstroke (53.89, 1:59.55).
