CHICAGO -- Freshman Phillip Bartels (Albuquerque, N.M./ Sandia) won a pair of events as the 24th-ranked University of Chicago men's swimming & diving team defeated 12th-ranked Kalamazoo College 153-131 in dual meet action Saturday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool.

Bartels took top honors in the 500- and 1,000-yard freestyle with respective times of 4:58.55 and 10:10.97.

Senior Paul Accardi (Bristol, Pa./ Holy Ghost) broke his own school record in the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 141.07.

Four other Maroons notched first-place finishes as the Maroons improved to 5-0 in dual meets.

Results
