GAMBIER, Ohio -- The University of Chicago men's tennis team split a pair of matches against ranked Central Region rivals Friday and Saturday at Kenyon College.

The Maroons, who stand 13th in the Central Region, opened the weekend with a 6-3 win over the region's #11 squad, Denison University (0-1).

Chicago then dropped a 6-3 decision to Kenyon College (6-0), which ranks 23rd in the NCAA Division III and sixth in the Central Region.

Sophomore Lado Bakhutashvili (Fox Point, Wis./ Nicolet) and freshman Tim Walsh (Winter Springs, Fla./ Winter Springs) each won both of their singles matches, Bakhutashvili at second singles and Walsh at the #4 position.

Chicago stands at 4-2 on the season, including a 3-1 mark against Division III foes.
