Maroons Win Margaret Bradley Invite
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's indoor track & field team placed first among 10 teams at the inaugural Margaret Bradley Invitational Saturday at the Henry Crown Field House.
Freshman Jacob Solus (Crestwood, Ill./ Oak Forest) turned in the Maroons' top performance, as he won the triple jump with an NCAA Division III provisional-qualifying distance of 14.04 meters.
Senior Zach Rodgers (Nashville, Tenn./ University) and junior Herman Reeves (Chicago, Ill./ St. Ignatius) each notched first- and second-place showings.
Rodgers won the long jump (6.79 m) and captured fourth place in the 55-meter hurdles (8.34), while Reeves led the way in the 200-meter dash (23.06) and was the runner-up in the 55-meter dash (6.64).
Four other Maroons, including three freshmen, won their respective events.
Junior Seth Satterlee (New Orleans, La./ Metairie Park Country Day) took top honors in the the pole vault competition (4.57 m).
Freshman Brian Andreycak (Pleasantville, N.Y./ Fordham Prep), Patrick Kane (Villa Park, Ill./ Willowbrook), and Harry Backlund (St. Paul, Minn./ Highland Park) placed first respectively in the 55-meter hurdles (8.10), 800-meter run (1:59.00), and mile run (4:18.46).
Chicago collected 171 points to win the meet. Hope College was next with 99.
