CLEVELAND -- Featuring two conference champions and 13 all-conferfence performances, the University of Chicago men's indoor track & field team won the 2008 University Athletic Association Championship Friday and Saturday at Case Western Reserve University.

Chicago totaled 120 points, 10 better than runner-up Emory University, en route to its second UAA indoor title.

Senior John Anderson (Downers Grove, Ill./ North) and freshman Jacob Solus (Crestwood, Ill./ Oak Forest) took top honors in the shot put (13.96 m) and triple jump (13.94 m), respectively.

Sophomore Bill Cheng (Island Lake, Ill./ Wauconda) clocked an NCAA Division III provisional-qualifying time in the 55-meter dash (6.41) en route to a second-place finish.

Senior Zach Rodgers (Nashville, Tenn./ University) earned All-Association honors in two events, as he turned in third-place performances in the long jump (6.75 m) and triple jump (13.73 m).

Seven other Maroons earned individual All-UAA recognition.

Junior Seth Satterlee (New Orleans, La./ Metairie Park Country Day), freshman Harry Backlund (St. Paul, Minn./ Highland Park), and freshman Drew Jackson (Sugar Hill, Ga./ North Gwinnett) placed second in the pole vault (4.50 m), mile run (4:19.03), and triple jump (13.81 m), respectively.

Junior John Pribik (Indianapolis, Ind./ Pike), and freshmen Brian Andreycak (Pleasantville, N.Y./ Fordham Prep), Patrick Kane (Villa Park, Ill./ Willowbrook), and Joe Walsh (Brooklyn Heights, Ohio/ St. Ignatius) each turned in third-place showings.

Pribik tied for third place in the pole vault competition (4.35 m). Andreycak, Kane, and Walsh notched respective third-place finishes in the 55-meter hurdles (7.92), 800-meter run (1:58.71), and shot put (13.16 m).

The Chicago distance medley relay team comprised of freshman Andrew Wells-Qu (Bethlehem, Conn./ Holy Cross), sophomore Patrick Offner (Houston, Texas/ Awty International), junior John Eric Humphries (Eagle River, Alaska/ Chugiak), and Backlund placed third with a time of 10:18.97.
