Maroons Finish Third at Wheaton Invite
WHEATON, Ill. -- The University of Chicago men's outdoor track & field team placed third among nine teams at the Wheaton (Ill.) College Invitational Saturday afternoon.
Freshmen Brian Andreycak (Pleasantville, N.Y./ Fordham Prep) and Jacob Solus (Crestwood, Ill./ Oak Forest) took top honors in the 110-meter hurdles (16.04) and triple jump (13.37 m), respectively.
Two other Maroons turned in second-place showings. Sophomore Blake Obuchowski (Geneva, Ill./ Geneva) was the runner-up in the 100-meter dash (11.47), while freshman Harry Backlund (St. Paul, Minn./ Highland Park) finished second in the 800-meter run (1:56.66).
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the meet with 229.5 points. North Central College (125) and Chicago (102.5) were second and third.
