CHICAGO -- University of Chicago junior shortstop Jen Jacobson (Schaumburg, Ill./ Conant) has been named the University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for softball (hitting), the conference announced today.

Jacobson batted .769 (10-for-13) in four contests last week and extended her hitting streak to 15 games.

Jacobson was 6-for-8 with four runs scored and an RBI as Chicago split a pair of games at the weather-shortened Illinois Wesleyan University Tournament (Apr. 11-12). She had four hits in as many at-bats in a 17-12 loss to Hope College.

Earlier in the week (Apr. 9), she turned in a 4-for-5 effort in a doubleheader against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

In 18 games this season, Jacobson has batted a team-high .556.
