Chicago Falls in Five at Concordia
RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Despite 26 kills from sophomore outside hitter Diandra Bucciarelli (Del Mar, Calif./ Torrey Pines) and a school record-tying seven block solos from senior middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage), the University of Chicago volleyball team dropped a 30-21, 25-30, 30-27, 20-30, 15-13 decision Tuesday at Concordia University Chicago.
Bucciarelli, whose 26 kills were a career high and the most by a Chicago player this season, hit at a .537 clip (26-4-41) on the night.
Kendall turned in a rare triple-double with 13 kills, 14 digs, and 16 total blocks. Her seven block solos matched the team record shared by four other players and most recently accomplished in 1999.
As a team, the Maroons hit .355 as junior setter Nikki Boddicker (Encino, Calif./ Buckley School) collected 53 assists, her third 50-plus effort of the year.
Chicago, which dropped its second straight match, slipped to 3-8. Concordia Chicago improved its record to 5-6.
