ELMHURST, Ill. -- Led by all-tournament team selection, junior setter Nikki Boddicker (Encino, Calif./ Buckley School), the University of Chicago volleyball team captured third place at the nine-team Elmhurst College Invitational Friday and Saturday.

Boddicker collected 109 assists (8.09 per game) as the Maroons (7-22) split four matches on the weekend.

Chicago def. North Park 30-11, 30-16, 30-28 (Oct. 26)
Boddicker finished with 28 assists as Chicago hit .382 in the three-game win over North Park University (6-20). Junior middle hitter Katie Volzer (North Canton, Ohio/ Lake) led three Maroons in double-figure kills with 13 -- matching her season high. Junior outside hitter Kerry Dornfeld (Cary, Ill./ Cary) and senior middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) added 12 and 11 kills, respectively.

Chicago def. Westminster (Mo.) 30-17, 30-20, 30-23 (Oct. 26)
Boddicker's 26 assists and nine digs led the Maroons past Westminster (Mo.) University (8-19). Sophomore outside hitter Yayan Zhang (Chicago, Ill./ University) and Volzer each hit a team-high nine kills with respective attack percentages of .438 and .412. Volzer also led Chicago with 13 digs.

Elmhurst def. Chicago 28-30, 30-23, 30-14, 30-16 (Oct. 27)
Kendall hit a team-high 11 kills in a four-game loss to the host Bluejays (14-16). Dornfeld and Zhang led the club with four blocks each, while freshman libero Morgan Anderson (Pleasanton, Calif./ Amador) collected 14 digs.

Wheaton (Ill.) def. Chicago 30-21, 30-22, 30-22 (Oct. 27)
Despite 12 kills from Kendall and 11 from Dornfeld, the Maroons dropped their final match to Wheaton (Ill.) College (24-8). Freshman outside hitter Elizabeth Kossnar (Park Ridge, Ill./ Maine South) notched a career-high 13 digs.
