Chicago Falls to Lake Forest in Four
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago volleyball team dropped a four-game decision to Lake Forest College Thursday night at the Ratner Athletics Center, falling 30-18, 30-21, 22-30, 30-22.
Four Maroons hit double-digit kills in a losing effort. Sophomore outside hitter Diandra Bucciarelli (Del Mar, Calif./ Torrey Pines) led the way with 15 kills to go along with 18 digs for her team-leading 11th double-double of the year.
Senior middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) clubbed 14 kills with a .429 attack percentage (14-2-28) to give her 1,044 for her career -- 10 shy of third place on the Chicago all-time chart.
Junior middle hitter Katie Volzer (North Canton, Ohio/ Lake) and junior outside hitter Kerry Dornfeld (Cary, Ill./ Cary) finished with 13 and 10 kills, respectively. Volzer's 13 kills marked her season high, while Dornfeld reached double figures for the fourth time in her last five contests.
Chicago slipped to 5-19 on the season, while the visiting Foresters improved to 7-15.
