Maroons Win One, Lose One at St. Norbert

DE PERE, Wis. -- Led by All-Tournament Team selections, senior middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) and sophomore outside hitter Diandra Bucciarelli (Del Mar, Calif./ Torrey Pines), the University of Chicago volleyball team split two matches on the second and final day of the St. Norbert College Invitational.

Kendall clubbed 25 kills and collected three blocks to lead Chicago (2-2) to a 30-32, 30-21, 30-17, 30-19 win over Marian College (1-3) in Saturday's opening contest.

Kendall then hit 19 kills in a 24-30, 30-24, 11-30, 30-27, 18-16 loss to tournament runner-up Aurora University (3-1).

Senior libero Dominique Marshall (Westerville, Ohio/ Columbus School for Girls) collected 67 digs on the weekend, including 23 in the loss to Aurora.

Junior setter Nikki Boddicker (Encino, Calif./ Buckley School) was credited with 141 assists in the four matches. She had 52 assists against Aurora -- two shy of her career high.

In Friday's action, the Maroons dropped a 30-22, 28-30, 34-32, 30-17 decision to tournament champion St. Norbert before defeating Finlandia University 32-30, 30-24, 31-29.

With their 2-2 finish, the Maroons captured third place.
