Maroons Take Eighth at UAA Championship
ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The University of Chicago volleyball team finished eighth at the 2007 University Athletic Association Championship at the University of Rochester on Friday and Saturday. After going 0-3 in pool play, the Maroons dropped a 31-33, 30-19, 24-30, 30-18, 15-12 decision to Case Western Reserve University in the seventh-place match.

Senior middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) led the Maroons with eight kills and three blocks in a three-game loss to the eighth-ranked Eagles (27-6 overall, 7-1 UAA) in the opening contest.
Brandeis def. Chicago 30-22, 30-23, 30-22 (Pool Play - Nov. 2)
Kendall collected nine kills and a pair of blocks in a losing effort against the Judges (25-8, 6-3).
NYU def. Chicago 30-17, 30-26, 30-24 (Pool Play - Nov. 3)
Kendall and junior middle hitter Katie Volzer (North Canton, Ohio/ Lake) hit nine kills as Chicago dropped its final pool play match to the Violets (17-18, 4-6). Kendall and junior outside hitter Kerry Dornfeld (Cary, Ill./ Cary) each collected three blocks.

Junior Nikki Boddicker's (Encino, Calif./ Buckley School) 55 assists helped lead to 20 kills from Kendall, 14 from Dornfeld, and 10 from Volzer in a five-game loss to the Spartans (14-20, 4-7) in the battle for seventh place.
Kendall finished her career as Chicago's all-time leader in total blocks (389) and block assists (244) as well as the Maroons' runner-up in kills (1,135) and block solos (145).
Chicago finished the season with a 7-26 overall record.
