Sept. 22, 2007 WHEATON, Ill. -- The University of Chicago volleyball team lost a pair of matches Friday at the Wheaton (Ill.) College Invitational. In the opening contest, the Maroons dropped a 30-16, 30-16, 30-19 decision to 10th-ranked Carthage College (13-2). Senior middle hitter Koryn Kendall (Napa, Calif./ Vintage) and junior outside hitter Kerry Dornfeld (Cary, Ill./ Cary) hit eight and seven kills, respectively. Lakeland College (6-7) then handed Chicago (3-10) a 30-22, 30-17, 30-21 setback in Friday's nightcap. Kendall again led the way with eight kills. Saturday's matches scheduled against North Central College and Aurora University were canceled. |
