Chicago Improves to 9-2
CHICAGO -- In its final non-conference game of the season, the University of Chicago women's basketball team defeated the Milwaukee School of Engineering 93-45 behind 15 points from senior guard Nofi Mojidi (Silver Spring, Md./ Bullis School) Thursday at the Ratner Athletics Center.
Mojidi, who also contributed four assists and four steals, was one of five Maroons to finish in double figures.
Senior guard Lori Tanaka (Chicago, Ill./ Lane Tech), sophomore forward Jill DiNucci (Glenshaw, Pa./ Shaler Area), and sophomore guard Micaela White (Milwaukee, Wis./ University) each scored 11 points, while freshman guard Dana Kaplan (Commack, N.Y./ Commack) added 10. White also handed out a game-high five assists.
Chicago (9-2) scored the game's first 14 points and led 25-3 midway through the first half before taking a 47-21 lead at the intermission.
The Maroons shot a season-best 54.8% from the field and notched a 46-25 advantage on the boards. Sophomore forward Molly Hackney (East Lansing, Mich./ Lansing Catholic) grabbed a game-high six rebounds.
Dana Guthrie and Emily Jungbluth paced MSOE (0-12) with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
The win marked the Maroons' fourth straight victory overall and third in a row at the Ratner Center, where they are 5-1 on the season.
