Chicago Routs North Park
CHICAGO -- Sophomore forward Molly Hackney (East Lansing, Mich./ Lansing Catholic) scored a game-high 17 points to lead the University of Chicago women's basketball team to an 83-40 non-conference win over host North Park University Saturday afternoon.
Chicago (7-2) built a 38-19 advantage at the intermission and led by at least 40 points for the game's final 11:01.
One of three Maroons to reach double figures, Hackney connected on seven of nine attempts from the field and was perfect on three free throw tries.
Sophomore forwards Anna Woods (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./ Lower Merion) and Micaela White (Milwaukee, Wis./ University) also finished in double figures, each with career highs. Woods tallied 11 points to go along with 10 rebounds for her first lifetime double-double, while White collected 10 points.
Chicago shot 50% from the floor and notched a 50-21 advantage on the boards.
LaRae Kostreva paced North Park (0-7) with 14 points.
