Chicago Climbs to #23 in USA Today/ESPN Poll

CHICAGO -- Currently locked in a four-way tie for first place in the University Athletic Association, the University of Chicago women's basketball team was ranked 23rd in this week's USA Today/ESPN coaches poll for NCAA Division III.

Chicago (17-5 overall, 8-3 UAA), which was ranked 24th a week ago, swept a pair of league games on the road last weekend, defeating Emory University 68-52 (Feb. 15) and Case Western Reserve University 59-54 (Feb. 17).

The Maroons share first place in the UAA with Brandeis University, the University of Rochester, and Washington (Mo.) University with three regular season games left to play.

Chicago returns to action at home this weekend with games against New York University (14-8, 3-8) Friday at 6 p.m. and Brandeis (17-5, 8-3) Sunday at 2 p.m.
