Chicago Defeats Presentation 68-48
CHICAGO -- Senior guard Lori Tanaka (Chicago, Ill./ Lane Tech) scored 11 points to lead the 18th-ranked University of Chicago women's basketball team to a 68-48 non-conference victory over Presentation College at the Ratner Athletics Center.
Tanaka connected on three of six three-point attempts en route to matching her season scoring high as the Maroons (5-1) improved to 31-1 in their last 32 non-conference affairs.
Senior forward Nicaya Rapier's (Munster, Ind./ Bishop Noll) layup 4:20 into the contest gave the Maroons the lead for good, 11-10.
Chicago built a 39-26 halftime advantage and led by at least 18 points for the game's final 12:17.
Tanaka hit a pair of three-pointers 35 seconds apart to give the Maroons their first 20-point margin, 54-34, with 12:17 remaining.
Sophomore guard Jamie Stinson (Topeka, Kan./ Shawnee Heights) dished out a game-high seven assists for Chicago, while sophomore forward Anna Woods (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./ Lower Merion) led the Maroons with seven rebounds -- four on the offensive end.
Presentation's (2-4) Callie Antonsen led all scorers with 20 points.
