Maroons Earn Individual, Team Academic Honors

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior Hannah Moots (Nashville, Tenn./ University School) has been named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association (USTFCCCA) NCAA Division III Cross Country All-Academic Team.

The award honors those student-athletes who have succeeded both academically and athletically. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must carry a minimum 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must finish in the top 25 percent of the field at their respective NCAA regional meet.

Moots placed 56th among 266 runners at the Midwest Region Championship meet. Two weeks earlier, she earned All-University Athletic Association Second Team recognition at the UAA Championship.

Chicago was cited as an All-Academic Team. The honor recognizes teams that competed and compiled a team score at their respective NCAA regional meet and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.10.
