Two Maroons Place at Concordia Open

MEQUON, Wis. -- Juniors Ben Hart (Wood Dale, Ill./ Fenton) and Justin Lucas (Medford, N.J./ Shawnee) placed among the top six in their respective weight class as the University of Chicago wrestling team competed at the Concordia (Wis.) Open.

Hart won five of seven bouts to earn a fourth-place finish at 133 pounds. Champion Adam Johnson of North Central College and runner-up John Sheets of Manchester College entered the event as the second- and eighth-ranked 133 pounders in the NCAA Division III.

Lucas wrestled his way to a sixth-place showing at 184 pounds as he split six bouts on the day.

Three other Maroons -- sophomore Troy Carlson (Cary, Ill./ Cary Grove) at 165 pounds, freshman David Kneisel (Barrington, Ill./ Barrington) at 174, and freshman heavyweight Ryan Hatten (Florissant, Mo./ McCleur North) -- finished among the top eight.

The non-team scoring event featured 320 wrestlers and included 10 individuals ranked among the NCAA Division III top eight in various weight classes.
