Maroons Edge Wabash 17-16

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago wrestling team defeated Wabash College 17-16 in dual meet competition Tuesday night at the Ratner Athletics Center.

The teams split the 10 bouts, but the Maroons (2-1) scored two major decisions to one for Wabash.

Junior Ben Hart (Wood Dale, Ill./ Fenton) and sophomore Troy Carlson (Cary, Ill./ Cary Grove) notched major decisions for the Maroons, who won for the fifth time in their last six duals dating back to last season.

Hart won 16-3 at 133 pounds before Carlson posted a 12-3 victory at 165.

Junior 149-pounder Jeff Harman (Boulder, Colo./ Boulder), freshman 133-pounder Matt Hart (Wood Dale, Ill./ Fenton), and freshman 174-pounder David Kneisel (Barrington, Ill./ Barrington) each won by decision.

Wabash dropped to 0-2 on the season.
