Gill, Bontz Earn NSCAA All-Region Honors
CHICAGO -- University of Chicago sophomore midfielder Claire Gill (Los Altos Hills, Calif./ King's School) and sophomore forward Brooke Bontz (Fort Collins, Colo./ Poudre) have been selected to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/adidas All-Central Region Women's Soccer Team.
Gill was named to the All-Central Region Second Team, while Bontz received Third Team recognition.
Gill scored five goals and added an assist for 11 points during the 2007 campaign. Among her five goals were a pair of game-winners in University Athletic Association play.
Chicago's leading scorer, Bontz netted seven goals and registered two assists for 16 points. She turned in a pair of multiple-goal performances and notched the winning goal in a critical 2-1 win over Washington (Mo.) University in the regular season finale.
Gill and Bontz both garnered All-UAA First Team accolades last month.
Chicago (12-4-4) advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III tournament and was the runner-up in the UAA with a 4-1-2 mark in conference play in 2007.
