Chicago Ties Brandeis 1-1

BOSTON -- The University of Chicago and Brandeis University women's soccer teams traded goals three minutes apart early in the game and were held scoreless the rest of the way en route to a 1-1 tie in University Athletic Association play Friday night.

Sophomore midfielder Claire Gill (Los Altos Hills, Calif./ King's Academy) put the Maroons (6-3-3 overall, 0-1-2 UAA) on the board at the 9:35 mark with her second goal of the season.

Senior defender Amanda Catalano (Whitinsville, Mass./ Northbridge) set up the goal off a corner kick for her team-leading fourth assist of the year.

Chicago held the lead for just over three minutes until Brandeis's Sarah Jasak scored unassisted at 12:38.

Chicago outshot the Judges (7-3-2, 1-1-1) 13-8 in regulation and 4-2 in the two overtime periods.

Senior goalkeeper Amanda Sutter (Irvine, Calif./ University) collected five saves for the Maroons, while her Brandeis counterpart Hillary Rosenzweig stopped seven shots.
