Chicago Falls at Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis. -- Jackie Peterson scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, to lift Carthage College to a 3-2 win over the 16th-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team in non-conference play on Saturday.

Peterson's second goal of the match at the 55:10 mark put the Lady Reds (7-1) in the lead 3-1.

Senior Katherine Gasho (Simsbury, Conn./ Simsbury) got the Maroons (5-1-1) within a goal when she tallied her second of the season in the 77th minute, but Carthage held on for the victory.

The teams traded goals in the first half. Peterson scored her first of the day in the 39th minute before Chicago answered on senior forward Christine Farmer's (Pine City, N.Y./ Elmira Notre Dame) fourth goal of the year with just under five minutes remaining in the half.

Carthage took a 2-1 lead early in the second period when Kelly Baumgartner scored at the 49:50 mark.
