Chicago Defeats Illinois Wesleyan 2-0
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. -- Freshman forward Sarah Loh (Grand Rapids, Mich./ Forest Hills Northern) scored a goal and collected an assist as the 21st-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team defeated non-conference rival Illinois Wesleyan University 2-0 Wednesday night.
Loh scored the game's first goal off a corner kick at the 41:23 mark. Senior midfielder Katherine Gasho (Simsbury, Conn./ Simsbury) assisted on the goal, Loh's team-leading fifth of the season.
The score remained 1-0 until sophomore midfielder Brooke Bontz (Fort Collins, Colo./ Poudre) tallied her first career goal off an assist from Loh at 70:01.
Senior goalkeeper Amanda Sutter (Irvine, Calif./ University) stopped three shots as the Maroons (5-0) outshot the host Titans (2-2-1) 11-6.
The Maroons' 5-0 start matches their best since the 2004 campaign when they won their first six games.
