Sept. 15, 2007 EAU CLAIRE, Wis. -- Sophomore forward Brooke Bontz (Fort Collins, Colo./ Poudre) scored the tying goal with just 15 seconds left in regulation as the 21st-ranked University of Chicago women's soccer team battled to a 1-1 draw with sixth-ranked University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday. Bontz scored her second goal in as many games following a rebound in front of the Blugolds' net to force the overtime periods. Gina Christenbury scored 53 seconds into the second half for Wisconsin-Eau Claire (4-0-1). Senior netminder Amanda Sutter (Irvine, Calif./ University) made three saves for the Maroons (5-0-1), while her Blugold counterpart Liz Weirick stopped seven shots. |
