Maroons Fall to #15 DePauw

CHICAGO -- Despite a pair of school record-setting performances by freshman Ellie Elgamal (San Diego, Calif./ Bishop's School), the University of Chicago women's swimming & diving team dropped a 166-121 decision to 15th-ranked DePauw University Saturday at the Myers-McLoraine Pool.

Elgamal notched school records in the 100-yard butterfly (57.72) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:13.37). Her time in the 100 butterfly was good for first place, while her performance in the 200 IM placed her second.

Sophomore Cassie O'Neill (Roseburg, Ore./ Roseburg) was the Maroons' only other swimming event winner, as she led the way in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:32.82.

Chicago finished the dual meet portion of its schedule with a 6-3 mark.
