CHICAGO -- University of Chicago freshman Ellie Elgamal (San Diego, Calif./ Bishop's School) has qualified to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division III Women's Swimming & Diving Championships Mar. 13-15 in Oxford, Ohio.

Elgamal will compete in the 100- and 200-yard butterfly and the 200-yard individual medley.

During the regular season, she posted Division III's 11th-fastest time in the 100 butterfly (57.82), 15th-fastest in the 200 butterfly (2:08.23), and 29th-fastest in the 200 IM (2:10.53).

At last weekend's University Athletic Association Championships, Elgamal won the 100 and 200 butterfly and placed fifth in the 200 IM.
