CHICAGO -- University of Chicago freshman Chrissy Hu (Palo Alto, Calif./ Palo Alto) has been selected as the 2008 University Athletic Association Co-Rookie of the Year as the conference announced its All-Association Women's Tennis Team.
Junior Vindya Dayananda (Kathmandu, Nepal/ Lincoln School) joined Hu on the All-UAA Team as a first-team pick at second singles.
Hu, who shared Rookie of the Year accolades with Carnegie Mellon University's Jennifer Chui, also garnered All-UAA second team honors at third singles and at second doubles with sophomore teammate Justine Kentla (Palatine, Ill./ Palatine).
Hu went 2-0 in singles and paired with Kentla to sweep three doubles matches to help lead the Maroons to a third-place finish at last weekend's UAA Championship. Dayananda won both of her matches at second singles.
