Chicago Falls to Northern Illinois

CHICAGO -- The 19th-ranked University of Chicago women's tennis team lost its first match of the year Saturday as it dropped a 4-3 decision to NCAA Division I rival Northern Illinois University at Bally's Hyde Park.

Chicago's top three singles players -- sophomore Marissa Lin (Irvine, Calif./ Tustin), junior Vindya Dayananda (Kathmandu, Nepal/ Lincoln School), and freshman Chrissy Hu (Palo Alto, Calif./ Palo Alto) -- each posted victories.

Dayananda and Lin also notched an 8-4 win at first doubles.

Chicago now stands at 3-1 on the year, including a 1-1 mark against Division I foes.
