Maroons Ranked #30 in NCAA Division III

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's tennis team has been ranked 30th in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association poll of NCAA Division III schools.

Standing at 9-7 overall, the Maroons also claimed the ninth position in the Central Region rankings. Several Chicago players were prominent in the region's individual ratings.

Sophomore Marissa Lin (Irvine, Calif./ Tustin), junior Vindya Dayananda (Kathmandu, Nepal/ Lincoln School), and freshman Chrissy Hu (Palo Alto, Calif./ Palo Alto) were listed third, 11th, and 18th, respectively, in singles.

In doubles, Lin and Dayananda were ranked fourth, while Hu and sophomore Justine Kentla (Palatine, Ill./ Palatine) were 10th.

Chicago competes at the 2008 University Athletic Association Championship this weekend (Apr. 18-20) at Washington (Mo.) University.
