Chicago Falls in UAA Semis
ST. LOUIS -- The 30th-ranked University of Chicago women's tennis team dropped a 6-3 decision to fourth-ranked Emory University Saturday in the semifinal round of the 2008 University Athletic Association Championship at Washington (Mo.) University.
Emory (13-9) won two of three doubles matches and four of six singles contests.
Chicago freshman Chrissy Hu (Palo Alto, Calif./ Palo Alto) notched a 7-5, 6-4 win at third singles and won 8-6 at second doubles with sophomore teammate Justine Kentla (Palatine, Ill./ Palatine). Junior Vindya Dayananda (Kathmandu, Nepal/ Lincoln School) won 6-4, 6-2 at second singles.
Chicago (10-8) will face either Washington and Carnegie Mellon University Sunday at 9 a.m. in the third place match.
