Chicago Wins Margaret Bradley Invite
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's indoor track & field team led the 10-team field at the inaugural Margaret Bradley Invitational Saturday at the Henry Crown Field House.
Senior Appie Hirve (Burke, Va./ Jefferson Science & Math) and sophomore Claire Ray (Park Ridge, Ill./ St. Ignatius) met the national provisional-qualifying standards en route to winning the triple jump (11.52 m) and shot put (12.82 m), respectively.
Freshman Stephanie Omueti (Chicago, Ill./ Whitney Young) won a pair of events, as she took top honors in the 55- and 200-meter dashes with respective times of 7.42 and 26.20.
Senior Cynthia Lin (State College, Pa./ State College) and freshman Liz Lawton (North Easton, Mass./ Thayer Academy) also posted first-place performances, Lin in the 400-meter dash (1:00.47) and Lawton in the mile run (5:20.30).
Chicago totaled 169.3 points to win the meet. Carthage College finished second with 72.3.
