CHICAGO -- University of Chicago freshman Stephanie Omueti (Chicago, Ill./ Whitney Young) has been named the University Athletic Association Rookie of the Year for women's outdoor track & field.

At last weekend's UAA Championship at Chicago's Ted Haydon Track, Omueti won the 100- and 200-meter dashes with respective NCAA Division III provisional-qualifying times of 12.33 and 25.27. She also ran a leg of Chicago's UAA record-setting 400-meter relay (48.32).

Omueti helped lead the Maroons to a second place finish at the seven-team UAA Championship.
