CLERMONT, Fla. -- The University of Chicago softball team split two games Friday on the final day of its spring break trip, defeating Manchester College 13-5 and falling to Union College 2-0. Chicago concluded the week with a 7-3 record.

Senior Jen Jacobson (Schaumburg, Ill./ Conant) led the Maroons' onslaught against Manchester (5-10) with three hits, two runs scored, and a pair of RBIs. Junior Kathleen Duffy (Hoffman Estates, Ill./ Barrington), sophomore Sara Whaley (Long Beach, Calif./ Bakersfield Christian), and freshman Sarah Neuhaus (Berkeley, Calif./ Berkeley) also collected two RBIs as the Maroons scored all 13 of their runs in the third inning after trailing 2-0.

Chicago managed just three hits in its 2-0 loss to Union (9-1) in Friday's second game.
