Scott Hofer Earns UAA Weekly Honors

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior first baseman Scott Hofer (San Marino, Calif./ Flintridge Prep) has been named this week's University Athletic Association Athlete of the Week for baseball, the conference announced today.

Hofer batted .417 with 12 RBIs as the Maroons won five of six games last week. Among his 10 hits was a grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning (in a seven-inning game) against DePauw University which provided the go-ahead runs in Chicago’s 10-6 victory.

Hofer also delivered key base hits as part of late-inning, game-tying rallies against Wheaton (Ill.) College and Rockford College. He finished the week with a .625 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base clip.

Hofer received his first UAA weekly citation of the season and the second of his career.
