Troy Carlson Eliminated at Nationals

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- University of Chicago junior Troy Carlson (Cary, Ill./ Cary-Grove) concluded his season at the 2009 NCAA Division III Wrestling Championship Friday at the U.S. Cellular Center.

After receiving a first-round bye at 174 pounds, Carlson lost 8-3 to the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse's Michael Schmitz. In the consolation bracket, Carlson dropped a 5-4 decision to Ryan Dormann of the Stevens Institute of Technology.

Carlson, who was making his first national appearance, finished the season with a record of 21-5.
