Aaron Carley Named Assistant Track & Field Coach

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Tom Weingartner announced today that Aaron Carley has been appointed assistant coach for men's and women's track & field.

Carley comes to Chicago following a successful stint as a graduate assistant coach for the men's track & field team at the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. While working toward a master's degree in sport administration, Carley helped guide the Eagles to two NCAA Division III indoor national championships and two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) indoor and outdoor titles. He coached an All-American in both the high jump and triple jump and saw three of his athletes capture WIAC titles in the high and triple jumps.

Carley enjoyed a stellar career as an undergraduate at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point from 2000-04. He qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships in three events (triple jump, long jump, and 1,600-meter relay), earned All-America status in the triple jump in 2001, and claimed the WIAC long jump title in 2003.

Carley, who earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Wisconsin-Stevens Point in 2005, joins the staff of Head Coach Chris Hall and Associate Head Coach Zeb Sion.
