Maroons Upset #6 Rochester

CHICAGO -- Sophomore midfielder Stanton Coville (Powell, Ohio/ Olentangy Liberty) scored with six seconds left in the first overtime period to lift the University of Chicago to a 1-0 victory over the sixth-ranked University of Rochester in University Athletic Association men's soccer action Friday night at Stagg Field.

Coville collected a long feed from freshman midfielder Garrett Laird (Murrysville, Pa./ Franklin Regional) and fired a shot from the far right side past Rochester netminder Michael Peacock as time wound down in the overtime.

Shots were even on the night, 11-11. Both teams attempted a pair of shots in the overtime stanza.

Peacock collected three saves for Rochester (8-1-2 overall, 2-1 UAA), which suffered its first setback of the year.

Sophomore goalkeeper Chris Giusto (Davie, Fla./ Heritage) made three saves to notch his league-leading sixth shutout.

The win, Chicago's first over the Yellowjackets since 2001, kept the Maroons undefeated at home (4-0-1).

Chicago (8-2-1, 2-1) returns to action Sunday, Oct. 18 when it entertains conference rival Case Western Reserve University at 11 a.m.
