Maroons Win 5th Straight

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- Sophomore outside hitter Isis Smalls (Humble, Texas/ Atascocita) hit 11 kills as the University of Chicago volleyball team defeated Concordia University Chicago 24-26, 25-18, 25-21, 25-19 Tuesday night.

The win extended the Maroons' (18-9) winning streak to five matches and marked their sixth victory in their last seven outings.

Sophomore outside hitter Colleen Belak (Louisville, Ky./ Presentation Academy) and freshmen middle blockers Caroline Brander (River Forest, Ill./ Trinity) and Katie Trela (Glencoe, Ill./ Regina Dominican) each hit nine kills. Trela also collected seven assists.

Chicago returns to action Saturday and Sunday at the University Athletic Association Round Robin at New York University.
