Maroons Remain Perfect at Home

CHICAGO -- Freshman middle blocker Katie Trela (Glencoe, Ill./ Regina Dominican) hit 10 kills and collected three blocks as the University of Chicago volleyball team defeated Dominican University 25-17, 25-20, 25-22 Wednesday night at the Ratner Athletics Center.

With their seventh victory in as many home matches, the Maroons improved to 22-10 on the season. Chicago has won nine of its last 10 matches overall.

Freshman middle blocker Caroline Brander (River Forest, Ill./ Trinity) hit at a .500 clip on the night with six kills in 12 attempts without an error. Sophomore outside hitter Isis Smalls (Humble, Texas/ Atascocita) finished with nine kills.

Dominican fell to 15-12.

Chicago will be idle until next Wednesday, Oct. 28, when it travels to Wheaton (Ill.) College for a 7 p.m. match.
