Chicago Finishes 2nd at Augustana

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- The 22nd-ranked University of Chicago women's cross country team was the runner-up at the 21-team Brissman-Lundeen Invitational Friday at Augustana (Ill.) College.

Chicago finished behind only Division II member Truman State University in the final team standings. Truman State, which boasted four of the top 10 finishers, collected 36 points to 106 for the Maroons.

Sophomore Rachel Ohman (Solana Beach, Calif./ Torrey Pines) led the Maroons with an eighth-place finish among 333 runners. She clocked a time of 20:29 on the 5.42-kilometer course.

Three other Maroons finished among the top 26. Junior Lizzy Bright (Brighton, Mont./ Montana Academy) captured 18th place (20:59), while freshman Julia Sizek (Dayton, Ohio/ Oakwood) and sophomore Jane Simpson (Western Springs, Ill./ Lyons Township) placed 22nd and 26th with respective times of 21:04 and 21:10.

Carroll College's Megan Ogrday led the field with a time of 19:22.

Chicago returns to action Saturday, Oct. 10 at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational.
