Maroons Place 5th at UW-Parkside

KENOSHA, Wis. -- The 28th-ranked University of Chicago women's cross country team finished fifth among 20 teams at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Invitational Saturday afternoon.

The top finisher among NCAA Division III entrants, Chicago totaled 134 points. Ferris State University won the event with 60 points, followed by DePaul University (93), Marquette University (97), and Eastern Illinois University (124).

Sophomore Rachel Ohman (Solana Beach, Calif./ Torrey Pines) paced the Maroons on the five-kilometer course as she crossed the line in 12th place with a time of 18:47.

Junior Elizabeth Bright (Brighton, Mont./ Montana Academy) placed 30th overall (19:20), while freshman Julia Sizek (Dayton, Ohio/ Oakwood) and junior Molly Peverada (Hampden, Maine/ Hampden) took 33rd (19:27) and 36th (19:32) place, respectively.

Ferris State's Tina Muir led the 176-runner field with a time of 17:45.

Chicago returns to action next Saturday at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Invitational.
