Maroons Drop Season Opener to Olivet

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago wrestling team fell to Olivet College 33-6 in its 2009-10 season debut Tuesday night at the Ratner Athletics Center.

Senior Troy Carlson (Cary, Ill./ Cary-Grove) and sophomore Jimmy Schoettle (Indianapolis, Ind./ Perry Meridian) posted the Maroons' two victories. Carlson won a 2-1 overtime decision at 197 pounds, while Schoettle notched a 4-0 decision at 125.

Olivet evened its record at 1-1.

Chicago returns to action on the road Wednesday night when it travels to west suburban Naperville to take on ninth-ranked North Central College.
