Claire Gill Named to Academic All-District Team

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior midfielder Claire Gill (Los Altos Hills, Calif./ King's Academy) has been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Five Women's Soccer Second Team, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Gill, who makes her second appearance on the Academic All-District Team in as many years, has scored five goals in 17 games for the 16th-ranked Maroons (13-3-1).

An international studies major, Gill is a three-time University Athletic Association All-Academic Recognition Award recipient and a two-time All-Central Region and All-UAA selection.

Chicago closes out its regular season at home Saturday, Nov. 7 against UAA rival Washington (Mo.) University at 1:30 p.m. The Maroons will then await Monday's (Nov. 9) announcement of the field for the 2009 NCAA Division III tournament.
