Maroons Set for Europe Tour

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago softball team will embark on its second international tour, a three-nation trek in Europe, beginning Saturday, June 14. The Maroons will visit Holland, Belgium, and Germany during the 11-day tour, the program's second in five years. Chicago traveled to Australia in the summer of 2005.

Duffy, Neuhaus Earn All-Region & All-UAA Honors

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago junior third baseman Kathleen Duffy (Hoffman Estates, Ill./ Barrington) and freshman pitcher Sarah Neuhaus (Berkeley, Calif./ Berkeley) (pictured) have been named to the 2009 All-Great Lakes Region and All-University Athletic Association Teams.

Maroons Sweep Hope; Kmak Wins #200

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The University of Chicago softball team swept a twinbill Friday at Hope College, giving Head Coach Ruth Kmak her 199th and 200th career victories. Now in her 10th year at Chicago, Kmak improved her record to 200-134 (.599) as the Maroons improved to 3-1 over their last four games.

Adoption

(Jan. 17, 2010) -- The Chicago softball team welcomed its newest team member, Jenna Rose Jongsma, a 7-year old girl surviving a brain tumor. The Maroons have "adopted" Jenna through their participation in the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation program, a non-profit, charitable organization that improves the quality of life for children with pediatric brain tumors and their families.
