AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The University of Chicago baseball team relied on its pitching to stifle Union (N.Y.) College's offense in Sunday's 4-2 victory.

The Maroons improved to 4-2 and the Dutchmen dropped to 1-1.

UChicago's hitters was also held in check for much of the day, but the bats were opportunistic in the third inning. An error put runners on second and third with no outs. Then sophomore pitcher Alex McGimpsey entered the eighth inning and stopped the rally with a fly out and a groundout.
