CHICAGO – The University of Chicago men's tennis team garnered five spots on the All-University Athletic Association (UAA) Teams on Wednesday.
Junior Nicolas Chua picked up the second All-UAA honor of his career, placing on First Team All-UAA at First Singles. The lefty has a 17-8 record in singles, including an 8-7 mark at the No. 1 spot. He went 7-3 in doubles play.
Erik Kerrigan was a First Team All-UAA honoree at Second Singles. He was also named the UAA Rookie of the Year, which is the third time UChicago has received the accolade. Chua was previously Rookie of the Year in 2015. Kerrigan is tied for the team lead in singles victories with a 19-4 overall record, with a 6-1 mark at No. 2. Playing primarily at No. 1 doubles this season, the freshman is 18-8 in those bouts.
Senior Max Hawkins and freshman Tyler Raclin teamed up to receive First Team All-UAA status at Second Doubles. As a duo, Hawkins and Raclin posted the top doubles mark on the team at 21-6 overall. They went 12-4 at the No. 2 spot in the lineup. For Hawkins, it was the fourth All-UAA honor of his career.
Peter Leung earned a place on the Second Team All-UAA competing at Fifth Singles. The junior tied with Kerrigan for most singles wins with a 19-3 record. He went 6-1 at No. 5 during the season, while also posting a 7-1 mark in doubles. It was the second All-UAA honor of Leung's collegiate career.
