Men’s Tennis Nets Four Selections to NCAA Singles & Doubles Championship Draws

NCAA Men's Tennis Individual Selections

CHICAGO – Four members of the University of Chicago men's tennis players garnered bids on Wednesday to participate in the singles and doubles brackets of the 2018 NCAA Division III Tennis Championships.

The individual championships, which run May 24-26, will feature 32 singles players and 16 doubles tandems. The team championship will run May 21-23. The championship week host is Claremont-Mudd-Scripps at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center in Claremont, Calif.

This year is a return engagement for senior Nicolas Chua and sophomore Erik Kerrigan. They also qualified for the singles draw in 2017, with Chua reaching the semifinals and Kerrigan advancing to the quarterfinals.

Chua qualified in singles for the fourth-straight year. He sports an 11-6 overall record this season. Kerrigan owns a 17-7 record.

UChicago will also be represented in doubles by sophomore Tyler Raclin and first-year Jeremy Yuan. The duo brings a 22-5 overall record into this weekend, including a 22-1 mark against Division III opponents.
