WHEATON, Ill. – The University of Chicago track and field teams recorded three event victories on the day at the Wheaton College Don Church Twilight Meet on Saturday.
UChicago's men placed third out of nine teams with 122 points. North Central College handily topped the field with 246 points.
In the 100 meters, junior Jacob Romeo came out victorious and sophomore Temisan Osowa was right behind in second place. Romeo posted a time of 11.15 and Osowa recorded a mark of 11.23. Freshman Obinnaya Wamuo clinched a win in the 400-meter hurdles by finishing in 55.02. UChicago also finished runner-up in two other competitions – sophomore Eyal Hanfling ran the 3,000 meters in 9:13.12 and senior Chijioke Ikonte leapt 12.34 meters in the triple jump.
The Maroon women placed fourth out of eight teams with 85 points. Illinois Wesleyan University was the team winner with 240.5 points.
